Motor Mount Fix
When adjusting the motor mount the set screw creates burrs on the mounting rods that make adjusting belt tension more difficult. A simple fix is to mill, grind, file or sand a flat on the rods where the set screws seat as shown here. It doesn't have to be very deep, maybe 1/16". You should also sand down the sharp cup on the set screws to reduce marking on the rods. You'll be amazed at how much easier it is to adjust the motor position with simple fix.
Cut the same flat on the back side of the rod. This gives two positive rails for the rod to set against on the back side of the hole instead of the curved cradle. You will be amazed at how much more stable the motor is with this fix.
